Enterprise Network Engineer

GreenFoot Technologies is searching for an Enterprise Network Engineer for one of our select Kansas City Clients.  This job is a long-term contract, contract-to-hire opportunity.  
  • Enterprise Network Infrastructure Implementation: Coordinate work with customer platform teams and network teams to improve enterprise tool sets for performance monitoring, alert monitoring, event correlation and suppression, ticket notification and escalation. Test and analyze elements of the network infrastructure, including customer’s network management solutions that support the enterprise network.
  • Enterprise Network Infrastructure Reporting: Monitor and control the performance and status of the network resources (performance is affected by modifying the configuration files to streamline the network data flow). Utilize software and hardware tools and identify and diagnose complex problems and factors affecting network performance. Generate network enterprise reports to management on the overall performance of the network.
  • State of the Art Enterprise Solutions: Research industry offerings and remain up-to-date with telecommunication infrastructure offerings to provide expert advice regarding future enterprise networking solutions. 
  • Change/Incident Management: Comply with customer’s stated policies and procedures for Change/Incident and Asset Management. Utilize the standardized tools to document problems and request changes to any part of the network infrastructure.
  • Disaster Recovery: Participate as a network technical lead to support customer Disaster Recovery.
  • Assessment and Authorization (A&A): Provide technical input for the A&A of the customer’s enterprise network. You will write technical documents that include network diagrams, to support ongoing A&A accreditation as required. You will also provide information identifying the actions necessary to rectify security exploitations in response to audit findings. 
Required Experience
• Minimum 3-6 years of experience with job related skills to include experience with Physical layer, Data Link Layer, Network Layer, and Transport Layer
• Experience with some combination of the following technologies:
  • F5 and Cisco ACE load balancers
  • Subnetting IPV4 networks and IP address management
  • Network design with VLANs and routing
  • Network protocols including TCP/IP, SSH, HTTPS, SCP
  • Deciphering packet captures using Cisco NAM or Wireshark
  • Troubleshooting Access Control Lists using Cisco IOS or NX-OS
  • Performing network management tasks using SolarWinds syslog and SNMP v3
  • DNS management using Infoblox
  • Monitoring network using Cisco Stealthwatch and SolarWinds
  • Virtualizing a network with VLANs, VDCs, subnetting and VRF
  • Implementing Security Controls with Cisco security (TACACs, RADIUS, SSH, SCP)

• Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in relevant field or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
• One of the following certifications must be obtained within 180 days of start date: CompTIA Network+ OR CISCO Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience providing technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations
• Prior experience with computer system/network design, engineering, and support, including specialized experience related to networking tasks.

• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
